A Look Inside The Gucci Cruise 2018 Men’s Lookbook

What was it Diana Vreeland said about giving people not what they want, but what they didn’t know they wanted yet? I feel a bit like that about Alessandro Michele’s collections for Gucci. It’s this brilliant ability to make you want just about everything he sends down the catwalk, even if it’s all seems a bit mad at the time. No different here, in his men’s Cruise 2018 lookbook, shot by Elaine Constantine at Villa Adriana in Tivoli, Italy. A kinky mini-mini short that laces down the side per signore? Nurse-y flatforms with a Gucci horsebit? Silky quilted jodphurs? A full tracksuit in floral lurex? We could go on. It’s a bit like a Woolworths pick ‘n’ mix, that won’t make you fat or rot your teeth. So themes – Grecian, apparently. Right up our alley. Alessandro wanted to hold the Cruise show at the Acropolis, but the naughty Greeks said no. Not the metal garlands and Grecian-but-not-Greece setting. Anyway, pull it all apart and there’s loads to wear. Loads to want. We want. DY-ING for those white puddle-hem flares.
