Glitter and spice and everything nice is what the new Ashish AW17 collection was made up of. A trip down the yellow brick road. With a political message. For starters: the lucha libre make-up masks a not-so-subtle nod to the “bad hombres” maybe? And the clothes? Well, clothes for protest, with each fully sequinned (er… sequin?) look was covered in phrases like “NASTY WOMAN” “MORE GLITTER LESS TWITTER” “PUSSY GRABS BACK” ” and “FALL IN LOVE AND BE MORE TENDER”. What better way to face the current political climate than with sequins? My Personal stand out was a leather daddy in a t-shirt with a car full of leather daddy ducks saying “WHY BE BLUE WHEN YOU CAN BE GAY?”. I couldn’t agree more.
