Get ready, fashion fans: 10 Men is about to drop! Quiet, Concealed, Luxury is with all good newsagents from September 7th.
But in the mean time, here’s Lady Sophia Neophitou’s editor’s letter with her own take on quiet luxury:
“For this issue we asked all our contributors what their quiet luxury would be and how they would achieve it. I wanted to ask myself the same question. I wanted to really explore what this means for me and how I would achieve it, too.
I thought long and hard about it and really feel that the biggest luxury for me is time – time shared with the people I love most in the world. Time is the one thing that I always want more of, the thing that too often eludes me, the thing I always seem to be running out of and am chasing endlessly. It’s the thing that money just can’t buy.
As I sit here, mapping out what little time is left of this year, knowing – to the day – where I’ll be in the world and what I’ll be doing, I keep finding myself dreaming of duvet days and drives to the seaside to sit on the beach with loved ones and a good book.
So, for me, time is definitely the biggest, most precious luxury of all, especially the time you spend with the people you love most in the world, uninterrupted. Endless time seems the most decadent extravagance. I also know that, even if I could spend all the time in the world with my boys, it would still never be enough.
So how do I achieve my luxury? I make time, I find space for us to do the things we love, so that we can lie together on our favourite beaches and watch the sunsets and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian. This is how I achieve these little moments of longed-for time with my boys. The days seem infinite and magical because we are together, and I never want them to end! Inevitably they do, but what always remains are the shared precious memories that I will cherish forever.
So I have learnt to treat time as the most precious commodity of all and never waste a moment, never take it for granted, and always make sure to carve out enough for the people I love.”
