Juun.J doled out a knitted beanie emblazoned with the slogan “COVERED” as invite for his spring/summer 2017 show. We don’t need it in the blazing sun of Junetime Paris, but it was a nice gesture. Especially as the same word wound up printed across many of his clothes – meaning we were wearing next season this season. Very nice., The models certainly were covered, in giant oversized sweatshirts emblazoned with the word, some with hemlines slipping down to the knee to emphasise their gigantic proportions. In inflation of parks was practically interplanetary. Which was, actually, a theme – it was inspired, in part, by forties jumpsuits worn by fighter pilots high above the earth. The interlaced ribbons trellising over the garments recalled those flight suits too, a retro-futuristic utility that, today, just looks like something nice to wear. Thinking big for spring?
