MSGM: Menswear SS18

MSGM. It’s a wake-up call. It always feels very young, clothes for boys that don’t take themselves too seriously. And always on the brighter side of the spectrum. Plenty of prints too. This morning, MSGM-flavoured logo-mania and a t-shirt that said WOW on it. Very into that. So far, so MSGM. But this season, Giorgetti’s boys are going surfing. Think: whiffs of Hawaiian prints, pieced together into roomy tunic tops, plenty of shorts, big surfer-style sweaters. And laced into this was that whole 90s, almost grunge thing that always finds its way into Massimo’s collections – here in the mixing in of plaid, parka-style jackets and long button-up cardis, which all felt a bit Kurt. But more cheerfully-hued. Enough to tempt even a colourphobe like me. Which is saying something. Namely: that the collection is very good and we liked it very much. The new face of the brand closed the show – Lennon Gallagher – who we have to commend on his beachy waves. And those impressive brows. We want them. Brow job?
