A Documentary On Vivienne Westwood Is Coming Next Year

VW4

We’ve heard the art of rebellion is something that can’t be taught, but come next Spring, when a new documentary on the life of Vivienne Westwood is set to be released, we’ll take notes. And who do we have to thank for this glorious news? Dogwoof – the British kings of the documentary, who brought us other fashion flicks like ‘Dior & I’ and ‘Dries’, as well as stone-cold Netflix classics likes ‘Blackfish’ and ‘The Art of Killing’.

Titled ‘Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist’, the feature-length film by former model and Westwood film-maker Lorna Tucker will be a celebration of this wonderful woman and her staggering contribution to the worlds fashion and activism. Excitingly, the doc is set to feature never-before-seen archive footage of a young Vivienne, including interviews with many of her inner circle, and a closer inspection of her intimate relationship with famed British impresario and performer Malcolm McLaren in the 1970’s. Sounds juicy. The film is already down to take part at this year’s Sundance film festival, taking place on January 20th – so you know it’s going to be fab.

‘Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist’ will be released across the U.K. and Ireland on March 23rd
