A Look Inside Nasir Mazhar’s New Store
If you’ve been wondering about Nasir Mazhar’s absence from London Fashion Week Men’s, maybe you’ve even grown quite concerned by it, we’re here to quash those anxieties and answer all your questions. That said, you shouldn’t really have any because we announced his move to open a new store ages ago. Pay attention, please. Nasir is alive and well. In fact, he’s very well, and more alive than ever, having just opened his first ever store in Forest Gate, East London, after taking the decision to invest directly in his customers rather than us stuffy press. Who can blame him, really? We’ve missed his presence very much though, you might even say that, without his customary mob of hunky models, London Menswear hasn’t quite felt the same. But that’s just us. Having designed and constructed the store’s interior with his own fair hands (we’ve seen them), he will be filling it with his current SS17 collection (think space station shorts, and nylon tracksuits) as well as shop exclusives like those signature sporty Speedball caps, and other archive stock. In an exclusive little chat with Ten, Nasir talked about how his aim for the store was to clarify and develop the ‘Nasir Mazhar vision’ (this can only be good news), and how he envisages the store becoming an installation space, in which future collections are not only designed and created, but where other artistes can also experiment with set design and explore their own creative urges. Call it a bohemian atelier. We can’t wait for a our first peek.
Opening times: Sat – Sun 10am-5pm – evening appointments are available and welcome
