Dries Van Noten’s Silent Archive Of 100 Shows

Dries Van Noten’s AW17 show was a what we can firmly declare a fashion moment that will go down in, to quote RuPaul, fashun herstory. It was Dries’ 100th show, and he wanted to celebrate by revisiting old prints and models from seasons past – taking what you do best and reworking it again. Genius. Now, the celebration continues for the next 100 days – on each one a past Dries Van Noten show will be released on the brand’s website. If, like me you’ve spent majority of your life searching for footage of shows pre-the internet age, where you are lucky if you can find a couple blurry images, this is a fashion porn gold mine. For the first 24 hours the show will even have its original soundtrack to accompany the video, then it will be moved into the silent archive. I’m gonna be selfish and say I hope other designers steal this idea because I already have goosebumps in anticipation for all the fashion to be discovered. Goosebumps!
