Far removed from the formalism and venerated traditions of as-you-know-it couture, Ermenegildo Zegna’s Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori proudly presents his debut Couture XXX collection. An assortment of street-smart wardrobe essentials, the collection mixes the precision and class of couture design with sustainable craftsmanship that focuses on natural and eco-friendly materials (oooh, ahhh!). A mix-and-match collection of essentials, including tees, sweatshirts, denim and outerwear, the collection is versatile without feeling mundane – the range of materials and hand-designed motifs see to that. Think of it as Zegna Couture’s (slightly naughtier) younger sibling.
Launched back in December at an event in Los Angeles, the theme of the collection centres around fluidity of movement, particularly dance, meaning Alessandro drafted in his good pal and fashion’s go to big name choreographer, Benjamin Millepied, the maestro behind Black Swan and most recently ‘The Paris Opera’, a feature length documentary on one of the most prestigious performing arts institutions in the world. And just to illustrate the point, the L.A Dance Project, directed by Monsieur Millepied, held a specially commissioned performance dressed head to foot in the new collection during the launch. The proof’s in the… prance?
The Ermenegildo Zegna Couture XXX Collection is available on December 5th in two exclusive worldwide locations: Los Angeles and New York, and globally from February 8th, 2018.
