As you must be aware of at this point, last night saw the best of the best in fashion come together in order to celebrate each others success. We’re talking Fashion Awards 2018, the award ceremony of the year everybody in the industry wants to be at. And as lucky as we are – we actually were, hence our endless feed of Instagram stories which is probably your best source of info on everything that happened last night – it’s @10magazine and you’re welcome. But beside the fun and games (and many a fabulous outfit changes of host Alek Wek), the night was full of special moments. A major roundup of the 2018 in fashion opened the night, showcasing all the big major things that made us took note in the past year. Dame Vivienne Westwood got her Swarovski Award for Positive Change from Jerry Hall, while Miuccia Prada picked up her Outstanding Achievement Award for her great ongoing contribution to the industry. Kim Jones went home as the Trailblazer of 2018, while the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator went into the hands of photo duo extraordinaire Mert & Marcus, and Parley for the Oceans organisation was awarded with the Special Recognition Award for Innovation. A very royal moment came up when the very pregnant Duchess herself, Meghan Markle came out to honour Clare Waight Keller with the British womenswear designer of the year Award – the whole room gasped. The New Wave of Creatives were honoured by the forever IT girl Alexa Chung, and then as the perfect ending to a starry, starry night, the legend Boy George paid homage to the late and great Judy Blame, remembering the creative genius with a song. A whole array of after-parties ensued, with early Tuesday mornings coming in almost too quickly. Oh, what a night…
