Giuseppe Zanotti Releases His Second Collaboration With J-Lo

As the saying goes: if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. And isn’t that appropriate for Giuseppe Zanotti’s second capsule collection with Jennifer Lopez? This sophomore outing brings back all those JLo things we enjoyed the first time: the diamante straps, the buttery suede and, of course, the names – all of which are characters taken from J-Lo’s sizeable filmography. Maybe we should start naming our shoes too?

First up there’s Puchi, a Swarovski crystal heeled bootie with our fave embellished ankle strap, but also the name of J-Lo’s character in El Cantante, the wife who witnesses the rise and fall of her salsa star hubby Héctor Lavoe. It’s all very fabulous. Next is Harlee, a strappy open foot number with the same femme elegance and capability as Harlee Santos, the single mom FBI agent from the series ‘Shade of Blue’ who doesn’t take any shit. We can see the resemblance.

Gertie is a fully embellished boot, set with rhinestones of all shapes and sizes, a glittering tribute to Gertrude Steiney, who dies in the opening half an hour of Jersey Girl. RIP Gertie. Last is Marisa, an over the knee lace up boot complete with Swarovski crystal heel, named after the indomitable Marissa Ventura from Maid In Manhattan, the working gal who accidentally gets swept up in a lifestyle of glamour and wealth. And what a shoe to do it in.
