Gucci To Show Men’s And Women’s Collections Together

Gucci Gender

Man? Woman? As yet undecided? Who cares – now you no longer have to choose. Because, come 2017, Gucci will show their men’s and women’s shows together in one Milano-based extravaganza, a move confirmed by the brand’s chief executive Marco Bizzarri at a press conference this morning. “Moving to one show each season will significantly help to simplify many aspects of our business,” he said. “Maintaining two separate, disconnected calendars has been a result of tradition rather than practicality.” In a statement, Alessandro Michele agreed – “it will give me the chance to move towards a different kind of approach to my storytelling”. Now, it’s yet to be confirmed when the show would take place, but chances are it will be shown during women’s fashion week. Either way, welcome to Mr Michele’s brave new world. Gender ain’t nothing but a thing.
