You Can Now Buy Prada On Instagram – This Is How To Do It

This seems to be a good week for all us shopaholics. Between stores popping up like mushrooms after rain and reports on drunk purchases hitting an all time high, it seems like this is exactly the right time for shopping. Latest in retail news is that everyone’s favourite photo-sharing platform has elevated their shopping service. You can finally shop through Instagram, without having to go through a third-party website. As you scroll down your Insta-feed, a silk Prada scarf is only few clicks away thanks to the brand new feature in the app called Checkout. Easy, peasy – just how we like it.

For now, this new aspect is only available in the US, as yesterday’s launch started with 20 brands, ranging from beauty, high-street fashion all the way to luxury brands. Prada, Balmain, Burberry and Dior are all on board as part of the testing grounds, making the process of getting that statement catwalk piece easier than ever before. The process is just an upgrade on the Instagram shopping feature – the posts with the paper carrier bag logo in left corner mark the pieces that are up for sale, but instead of finalising your buy on the brand’s own e-tail destination, you can checkout directly on Instagram by putting in your delivery address and payment details. And just like that, you’ve got yourself the Prada printed silk scarf and your Thomas Burberry Monogram bag. With this brand new novelty, the uprising of tipsy buys isn’t stopping anytime soon. As we wait for the Instagram Checkout to launch on our side of the pond, we can only start saving our coins…

The Instagram Checkout feature is available in a beta version in the US.
