Louis Vuitton Announce Collaboration With Jeff Koons

MAJOR COLLABORATION ALERT. Zomg. Louis Vuitton have just revealed that they will be collaborating with mega-artist Jeff Koons on a special collection of accessories. We’ve always longed for a piece of Koons to call our own, but, short of getting involved in the iffy business of international art trafficking or getting written into the will of a decrepit old billionaire, this is probably just about the only chance we’ll get. The collab, revealed in full this evening at the Louvre, is called The Masters, taking five of the world’s most iconique paintings – Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, The Tiger Hunt by Rubens, as well as work by Van Gogh, Titian and Fragonard – and putting them slap bang upon a whole range of LV leather goods. “It’s a great platform for communication, I can put my work on street!” Koons said to the NYT. “Some people will probably think it’s too commercial, that serious artists shouldn’t make handbags. But I also think a lot of people will really dig them. They are extremely marketable.” Buy several, wear them all at once and call yourself a walking art gallery. Accessorise with large, muscular security man.
