Exhibitions are great, of course, but is there anything better than the launch party? I mean, you get to see the exhibition (which in this case, is very good), hobnob with the great and the good and perhaps most importantly you are provided with champagne and/or cocktails. What more could you want? And, if anybody is going to be trusted with a launch, it is Louis Vuitton, who last night threw what we at Ten are now calling the soiree of soirees. There was famous face at every turn, and these were not your usual turnouts – Catherine Deneuve, Michelle Williams, Alicia Vikander, Clemence Poesy, Lily Donaldson, Cara Delevigne, Alexa Chung. Phew! Our necks were aching from all the craning – “muses, friends of the house and celebrities,” as the press release termed them this morning. The exhibition, Louis Vuitton: Series 3, itself was a blockbuster taking its attendees behind-the-scenes of their AW15 show, immersing them in all things Louis Vuitton. And the best thing – anyone can go, for free, all you have to do is apply for tickets through Louis Vuitton’s website. We might apply for more tickets, just to re-live it all, because now that this has happened, we are wondering if ever be able to go to another party again? Well, I guess we probably can – but it just won’t quite be the same.
