More business, mergers and acquisitions news from somebody who has little to know knowledge about what these terms actually mean with word this AM that LVMH are set to purchase Dior Couture for €6.5 billion. Maybe if I had €6.5 billion, I’d also buy Dior Couture. Think I’d rather just wear it though. This whole business thing seems an awful lot of hard work and I don’t think I’d suit a briefcase. I have this thing where I think my hands are too small for my body, and fear that a briefcase may emphasise smallness. Anyway – the move marks an extension of LVMH’s control over their Dior holdings by purchasing this, the fashion and leather goods division of the house, alongside their existing ownership of the perfume and beauty side of the brand. It will mean that they will purchase the 26% of Dior shares that they don’t currently own and thus taking complete control. We have it on good authority (Business of Fashion) that this is a very good deal for all parties. Hoorah!
