Maison Margiela Launch a Podcast Series With John Galliano
There’s no other voice in the fashion industry that’s more soothing than John Galliano’s. A deep bass matched with a South London accent make an oddly relaxing combo that make me wish he was the one who read my sister and I our bedtime stories when we were little. Maison Margiela obviously recognised the potential of Galliano’s chords as the House has just launched a series of podcasts about discovering the atelier, peeking behind the white sturdy curtain and looking at his uniquely creative design processes and inspirations. The debut of the podcast comes ahead of the brand’s first Artisanal men’s collection showing today in Paris, as Galliano goes in-depth on the topic of menswear today and the reasons behind this major decision. The 12-minute episode is an intriguing sneak-peek tell-all about mastering bias-cut tailoring – because if anyone can cut on the bias, it’s Mr Galliano. “I hope this is the beginning of a journey to help us discover a new sensuality, a new sexuality, breaking down preconceived ideas of what’s masculine and what’s feminine – through cutting,” he says, as we listen and impatiently wait for the fashion extravaganza that is Artisanal Maison Margiela.
