Mister Ralph Lauren is An Honorary Knight

All arise Sir Ralph! If you’re looking for a knight in shining armour – look no more. The fashion legend who just celebrated half a decade of his brand is now getting an honour like no other – Ralph Lauren has been made an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire also known as the KBE. Sounds like a pretty major deal – and it is. In celebration of his major role in the fashion industry in forming transatlantic cultural and economic connections as well as the philanthropic commitments to cancer research that have been supporting hospitals on both sides of the pond.

And to be completely honest – no other American deserves the title of a Knight as much as Mr Lauren does – his kindness fuelled with creativity has been pushing fashion forward for decades, so it’s only just for Her Majesty to recognise it with a fabulous accessory. The knighting will happen at a ceremony next year with one of Queen Elizabeth’s representative giving the honour to Ralph Lauren. Can we put ourselves down on the RSVP list, please?

With makeup genius Charlotte Tilbury just being awarded her MBE yesterday, it seems like the fashion industry is having a pretty royal week. Now off to shop for plastic crowns on Amazon – it’s all about wishful thinking.
