Your First Look At Saint Laurent By Anthony Vaccarello’s Summer Campaign

Safe to say, we like the idea of posing on top of a very tall skyscraper a lot more than we think we’d enjoy the experience in practice. Because in practice, there’s no doubt we’d be reduced to a trembling mess and the entire thing would have to be shot in front of a green screen. Look at us, fantasising about our lives as campaign-fronting super models… No, that job is best left to professionals, in this case Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik and Cara Taylor, who front Saint Laurent’s Inez & Vinoodh-shot Spring/Summer 2018 campaign, art directed by Anthony Vaccarello himself.

But how do they manage to look so cool and composed? We think it has less to do with them being industry professionals and everything to do with the soothing, confidence-instilling power of Saint Laurent, which they’ve wielded here to it’s maximum. How else do you explain Ms. Moss being able to hang out of a helicopter a la nude last season? That’s the power of Saint Laurent for you. But perhaps it’s also explained by Mr. Vaccarello’s vision for the House, which he declared post-show in Paris last year, “that girl of Saint Laurent – she wants to have fun…she’s not depressed. She wants to enjoy life!” We’re prepared to give it a go, but without any Saint Laurent to wear, we can’t promise anything.
