John Galliano: Ready-to-wear SS16

For John Galliano’s Spring collection Bill Gaytten looked towards England’s fair shores. The first clue was the parade of Buckingham Palace-esque helmets, with their long horsehair plumes, conceived by Stephen Jones. But this was not a historical, period drama offering – oh no – it was more about Swinging London – the pea-coats, little double-breasted jackets and swathes of tweed all finding root in the 1960s. It was all about the eclecticism of British style, the mixing of high and low – delicate lace dresses and ruffled layers found their place under a thrown on parka or studded leather jacket. And the soundtrack for such a Brit extravaganza? The Beatles, of course. Get the London look.
