Rochas was a little late. But then again, the Rochas girl is the kind of girl to keep you waiting. But it doesn’t matter, because when she does arrive – all perfect in layers of chiffon and says sorry in her very polite manner – all is forgiven because, well, look at her. She breathes opulence. For the Rochas girl enjoys the finer things in life and Alessandro Dell’Aqua’s Spring collection certainly fulfilled this requirement – rich brocade weaves, fine layers of fabric and intricate embellishments as far as the eye can see. It was a fitting celebration for a brand that turns the grand old age of ninety this year. Ninety! As impressive vintage. But don’t panic – the Rochas girl will never show her age. What’s her secret?
