An Exclusive First Look at The Astrid Andersen SS19 Video
Yaaaas. Soak. It. Up. Exclusive is what it’s all about. We first saw a taste of Astrid Andersen’s SS19 vision in June at London Fashion Week Men’s, where she swapped her usual catwalk show with a more intimate presentation which also served as her lookbook shoot. What we saw there was a spacey desert where tracksuits become family dinner uniforms and kitchen foil is a trendy accessory. A whole new world one would say. But this wasn’t it for AA – the next stop was Copenhagen Fashion Week.
A couple of weeks ago, Andersen showed the collection on her own territory through an experiential presentation that cast actual families as models – including Andersen herself as well as our 10 Men contrib Simon Rasmussen and his beautiful girls Marz and Nomi included. Clothed in reflective sportswear, and layers of new kind of tailoring, the show launched these families into her futuristic capsule somewhere far, far away. The show was held at the Verner Panton suite inside Copenhagen’s Hotel Alexandria – a stunning homage to Danish culture merged with Andersen’s sporty aesthetic. “It was based on the concept of family portraits and a need to explore real relationships between myself, my family and people I admire and love,” the designer poetically lauded about the collection.
As we watched it all happen live via the magic of Instagram, we were kicking ourselves for not booking a flight for Copenhagen. This was one of those moments that will be remembered. So, you can imagine how excited we were when asked to *exclusively* show the video created at the presentation here on the Ten webosphere. Directed by Jens Langkjaer and art-directed by both Andersen & Rasmussen, the video explores the duality of the Vernon Panton backdrop as well as the crossing of aesthetic differences between gender or age. There’s no men’s or women’s clothes, no young or old – in Andersen’s vision of tomorrow, everything goes for everyone. Count us in.
