Watch: Pedro Almodóvar Is The New Face Of Prada’s AW17 Campaign

Taking a short break from his usual positioning behind the camera, Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar is centre stage for Prada’s new campaign film, Auteur, the latest chapter in the 365 series, shot and directed by Belgian snapper Willy Vanderperre. Just when you thought you’d seen that amazing show space from Prada’s AW17 collections for the last time, here is Pedro Almodóvar, creator of Volver and Bad Education, pottering about in it in full Prada wear – including a rather gorge nylon Prada duffle. Straightening out bed sheets and fixing wall stickers, he appears as an incredibly glam domestic dad, tidying his children’s rooms whilst they’re out at school. Or maybe, they’ve grown up and moved out, and now he’s lovingly preserving every detail of their rooms because he misses them so much. Adorbs. Either way, the short film comes as the latest part in a campaign series based on the magic of cinema, with previous muses including Jude Law, Dane DeHaan, Jessica Chastain and, of course, Eddie Redmayne, AKA G Spencer. We could dream up possible scenarios all day, so have a watch of the above and form your own conclusions – Joel thinks it could in fact be Pedro visiting his old room and the reflection of past solitude. Deep.
