Antonio Berardi: Ready-to-Wear AW19

Antonio Berardi is dedicated to celebrating strong, powerful women. For SS19, it was all about the female figures that marked his career, while in his Pre-Fall 2019 lookbook, Berardi shift his focus onto artist and photographer Arvida Bystrom, who took self-portraits in the clothes. This season, it was costume designer, stylist and street-style icon Catherine Baba that took the role of the Berardi woman. Her high cheeks and dramatic looks serving as the pure embodiment of a Hollywood diva, Baba gives a lesson in fabulosity, clad in some quintessential 1960s glamour, now reimagined as contemporary couture. Continuing on Pre-Fall, Berardi dug deeper into his birth year and searched for codes that felt modern right now. 1968 seems to be a great year for fashion, especially when reimagined with the filter of Berardi’s signature craftsmanship. Volume, colour and print are sharing the centre stage, as the designer puts his own spin on nighttime classics that just yearn for a good time. You can just imagine that black and white checked ruffled frock twirling down the dance floor. Styled by our Editrix Sophia Neophitou, Catherine is our Saturday night goals. Studio 54 better beware.
