Anya Hindmarch: Ready-to-wear SS17
There’s always some sort of crazy production at an Anya Hindmarch show. This time it came in the form of a rising circular roof that when raised revealed an underground spiral walkway, in bright, optic white, not dissimilar to the underground layer of some evil villain. Actually, it kind of resembled a set from 2001: Space Odyssey. The clothes were in keeping with the sixties vision of the future. Let’s call it a cornucopia of modish, Twiggy-esque coats in sorbet coloured bonded fabric, with sleeves in every guise imaginable. Seams were held together with delicate, floral inspired leather appliqué. It felt bouncy and firm. A sort of android from the future as imagined in the past.
