Rave glamour, a night out at the museum. That is our neat summary of Christopher Kane’s Pre Fall 18 Collection. But naturally, we have plenty more to say about it, because one of our favourite topics is Christopher Kane, so allow us to expand a little further. The imagery was shot at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery in Stoke on Trent, but far from being a purely cultural affair, the space is lit like a warehouse rave. Filled with all the cool girls you wouldn’t dare approach, not solely because they are unapproachably cool, but also because you are not adorned in crystals and feathers as they are, and you would hate to block their shining light.
These are clothes that are beautiful standing still, but we assume take on a whole new life when they move, which, again, makes them ideal for the rave. The setting of the museum matches Christopher’s aesthetics of things to treasure and observe, as his garments are for women who like to be stared at, in the most polite way of course. The lace dress with fringe crystals for example, its perfect for the girl who has a soiree at 8pm and an after AFTER party at 2am -Fashion that takes you from night to early morning- what more could one need?
