There’s a very strong sense of Englishness that always permeates Emilia Wickstead and this collection was no different. High necked empire gowns came in stripes of shades of green, with cut outs in the back, perfect for sweeping through the gardens of some stately home in dramatic fashion. In fact, the whole thing, has the feel of a Scottish Widows ad, not that Scottish Widows has anything to do with Englishness, but the drama of lots of sweeping fabric is the same. And there were hoods too. And who doesn’t like a dramatic hood?
