Hermès: Ready-to-Wear SS18
Just about everybody has a house check these days have you noticed? It’s become lingua franca for history and provenance and nowse. No faking that at Hermès.
Since its inception in 1837 as a harness workshop, the house has reissued and then abstracted, scaled down and then up their checks and horse bits in prints on clothing and bags and headscarves, all the while creating new ones. It’s self-referential and global and enormous.
For spring designer Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski played with all the above and the H of Hermès too, a flap-over shoulder strap bag christened with a new look arty silver H. One coat was zipped down the back with a tan leather pull. Slightly naughty, very luxe.
