A Jeremy Scott show is like no other. Let me talk you through it… When you are in line trying to get through the crazy security and seeing all the kids dressed up in their favourite Jeremy Scott looks to the drag queens elbowing their way through and the man wearing a full pleather look plus cowboy hat in 40 degree heat, you know you are in for a treat. Once you are inside, the kids in neon, the drags in over the top sequins and hair. And even the pleather cowboy then makes sense. In the Scott universe, all is welcome and it’s happy and joyful! The same goes for the show tonight called “Future Shock.” Inspired by all his own polaroids that he took of himself back 1996 when Jeremy Scott was experimenting with makeup, gender fluidity and imaging his own show in the future where characters from early Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Bladerunner’s Pris was his muses.
As crazy as it might sound, the show and the collection felt so genuine. Neon leather jackets, vintage style army surplus wear and the most amazing high heels boots that were overalls! The lady of moment Cardi B was yet again front and center, this time going crazy as her man Off Set walked in the show wearing a pink Pokémon sweater. To take his final bow, Scott walked the runway wearing a shirt that said “Tell your Senators No to Kavanagh.” He makes us all want to go hit the clubs but also think about what is important right now.
