Juergen Teller And Nicolas Ghesquiere Release New Book
Phallic cactae, stalagmites and stalactites (which are also quite phallic), the reflection of light in water and, of course, models posing in Nicolas Ghesquiere’s spring/summer 2015 collection for Louis Vuitton. These are some of the things you’ll find in Juergen Teller and Nicolas Ghesquiere’s new book ‘The Flow’. This book, published by Steidl, is the second they’ve done together, following the success of the first, ‘I Just Arrived in Paris’. The photographs inside it blend the media of fashion, portrait, still-life and landscape photography and, as is typical of Juergen Teller’s photographs, are profoundly beautiful. The collection too is beautiful. Something former-resistent of Ten Towers said spoke of “intergalactic stewardesses, and lap of luxury voyagers.” That sense of intergalacticity (if that’s a word) and luxury is something that Juergen has captured, with his characteristic artistic flair. We’ve already cleared a space on our coffee tables for ‘The Flow’ because, to somewhat pretentiously quote John Keats, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” And this book sure as hell will be.
