This is Planet Plein. A place where men with airbrushed abs wash cars, kids run around in sunglasses (disturbingly cute) and models walk on by in seriously embellished leather jackets. This was the kind of place where people would bake cakes filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy. Maybe a few more ingredients in Planet Plein. Yes, it exists. Philipp Plein SS17 took us on a trip. Enter Fergie. Fergalicious definition make them boys go loco. She made us all go loco. This was a revisitation of the Noughties. Imagine Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Linsday Lohan in a top down car blasting Missy Elliot. We had visions so strong that Paris appeared before our eyes walking down that runway. There was excessive amounts of OTT gold jewellery – bling bling – double denim and satin tracksuits. Stilettos were adorned with gold chains and caps were worn sideways. It was truly Fergie back in her Fergalicious days reincarnated. And then Fat Joe rapped to us as the models sat on a swing ride carousel situation and flew up in the sky. Now that’s a finale. And so once again the Philipp Plein rich swanky flashy extravaganza didn’t disappoint. We’ll see you next season in New York, Philipp.
