Balmain, Versace, Quinlivan: The Trio of New Fashion Podcasts You Should be Listening To

I’m not going to lie to you, I was a bit sceptical about podcasts at first. I don’t know if it’s down to my lack of concentration these days, or my inability to truly multitask, but I could never get through a full show without turning it off momentarily to do something (and forgetting to press play again altogether). Though, in the wonderful world of fashion, there’s been some cracking new listens that are bound to keep my (and your) ears peeled for episodes to come. For your listening pleasure, here are a trio of podcasts you should be downloading for your bus journey home.

L’Atelier Balmain

If you didn’t already know, Balmain celebrated its 75th-anniversary last year (bit of a crap year for it to fall on, right?). Yet Olivier Rousteing isn’t going to let all this lockdown malarkey dampen this monumental achievement. L’Atelier Balmain is the new 10-part series that sees the creative director join acclaimed writers and historians to investigate the key themes, ideas and design moments that have shaped the couture house to be what it is today. Listen here.

Versace’s Medusa Power Talks

When Donatella talks, you listen. Fashion’s leading blonde has put down the design scissors (momentarily) to turn her efforts to Medusa Talks, a brand new, female and non-binary-led series that will delve into the experiences of women in power in the year 2021. Available across the brand’s social media channels – which now includes Clubhouse – you can listen to the soothing sounds of Precious Lee, Indya Moore, Irina Shayk, Chelsea Miller and Mrs Versace here.

Teddy Quinlivan’s Unholy & Curious

Alas! Former 10 cover girl, Teddy Quinlivan, finally has her own podcast! Dubbed Unholy & Curious, the show sees the outspoken model kiki with a slew of industry friends, including Jeremy Scott, Violet Chachki and Christian Siriano. As episodes unfold, expect right ol’ gossips about everything from dick pics to RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as much-needed discussions on trans visibility and racial inequality in our industry. Tune in here.
