Burberry: Pre-Fall 2020

Riccardo Tisci likes to keep his friends close and his Burberry family closer. Since joining the British heritage brand back in March of 2018 as its chief creative officer, Tisci has worked with a close-knit team of photographers, stylists and models to craft both a cohesive and contemporary vision for Burberry. The brand’s autumn/winter 2020 pre-collection is no different. Shot by Danko Steiner, the campaign explores the concept of duality, with models Irina Shayk and Reece Nelson interacting with lookalikes of themselves – we think we’re seeing double!

The collection sees Tisci re-imagine pieces from the Burberry archive, splicing staple silhouettes with vibrant hues and bold prints. For the menswear, the Burberry nova-check is sliced into grids on polos and shorts and overlayed with camouflage on a selection of nylon tracksuits. Technical jackets come chunky and splashed in neon orange and blue, and cracking when paired with logo-stamped wellies. Working within the synonymous Burberry hues – beige, black, red, grey – this season Tisci wanted to develop the brand’s colour palette, focusing in particular on pink. Silk dresses come dramatic with elongated sleeves that trail across the floor. From nipped in quilted jackets and monogrammed activewear, to pleated skirts and pussy-bow blouses, there’s a slice of Burberry for every kind of look.
