Dunhill: Menswear AW19

It’s officially official – suits are back in town, for everyday and everyone. After a few years of casualness leading the way in menswear, it’s time to go back to daily elegance. Leave your tracksuits for Sunday morning walks, and turn to fabulous suiting. Or so Mark Weston of Dunhill suggests with his AW19 collection for the British brand. And it makes total sense, especially for a brand whose heritage is so embedded in tailoring. But don’t mistake this for some classic silhouettes. For the season to come, the Dunhill men are dressed in a mix of country house chic and 1980s pop star vibes – think David Byrne at Soho Farmhouse. The elongated silhouettes are weaving throughout, what in blazers with popped wide lapels and loose, low-waisted trousers, as well as the immaculate coats, tailored to that perfect length that fits just about every height. It’s the best of British style throughout history, now back in the shape of finest, luxe fabrics like silks, mohairs and Prince-of-Wales-checked wools. The little fedora, a somewhat dreadful fashion pastiche from 2000s, is back too. And it’s looking way more attractive than we remember them to be. Such is the power of an eternally elegant Dunhill man. Get yourself one – or become one yourself.
