The winds of change are still a-blowin’ at Gucci, where Alessandro Michele continues to breath new life into one of Italian fashion’s oldest (and biggest) brands. The mix this time was once again masterful, a melange of eras and references allowing any person to tug out individual, individualistic pieces to covet for years. How clever. There was plenty to love for autumn/winter 2016; each watcher will pull a different haul of items to lust after. Brocade car coat? Sweeping cape? Pearl-embedded heels on a pair of polished brogues? Layers of magnificence, staged with pomp and circumstance in a grand scarlet salon especially erected for the occasion. Those were my take always from this great Gucci extravaganza. How about you?
