Kent & Curwen: Menswear Spring/ Summer 2019

Who says that ravers and prepsters can’t get along? Over an intimate lunch in Covent Garden, our favourite fashion entrepreneur/British Council ambassador/ footballer/ general babe David Beckham presented the Kent & Curwen Spring/ Summer 2019 collection, and showed what a harmonious collision of subcultures looks like. Suited in multicoloured stripes, booted in Wallabees and accessorised with patched up bucket hats, the K&C boys walked a show that exuded the joyful, carefree spirit of 1990’s youth. Dancing in the sun, dressed in all the colours of the rainbow, the Kent & Curwen boys are the boys we wanna hang out with. The brand’s creative director @daniel.kearns threw it back to the days of growing up listening to The Stone Roses, one of the originators of what we today consider the look and the sound of that decade. But it wasn’t just a simple homage – Kearns actually collaborated with the band on creating the artwork and the music for the show- giving off the vibe of some amazing British festival in the middle of nowhere. In addition to the creative contribution, the band and brand are releasing a limited edition Kent & Curwen x The Stone Roses capsule collection with John Squire’s iconic graphics printed on t-shirts. Talk about the ultimate band merch. And to make things just a bit more monumental, the release of the collection will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of The Stone Roses’ iconic self-titled album. LE. GEN. DARY.
