Moschino Brand To Show At Pitti Uomo

Great Scott! Guess who the organisers of Pitti Uomo have invited to be their menswear guest designer? Yep, it’s the king of kitsch and master of maximalism himself, Mr Jeremy Scott. Well, Moschino by Jeremy Scott. Apparently these organisers are fans of the American designer’s take on the Italian brand. “We see the humor, the irreverence and the manipulation of pop iconography – all that we knew to be part of Franco Moschino’s spirit and designs,“ said Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine, in a quote given today. Pitti Uomo have also invited Canadian designer and LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize Thomas Tait to be their womenswear guest. “Over the past few seasons, Thomas Tait’s women’s showings at London’s fashion week have become not-to-be-missed events,” said Lapo Cianchi, Director of Communications and Events at Pitti Immagine. “We like his coherence, sartorial skills, unexpected shapes and devotion to design.” “That is why we thought of offering him the opportunity to express his creativity here in Florence with an unusual – unusual for him, that is – project, that we could call “reflections on his work,” he continued. With Scott and Tait set to show, it’ll be all eyes on Florence come June. And hopefully there will be some outlandish designs and washboard abs for these eyes to feast on, as there were at Moschino’s AW15 show (pictured).
