Saint Laurent: Menswear AW17

Anthony Vaccarello gave his Saint Laurent menswear its first outing proper last night, nestled amongst his AW17 womenswear show. That said, eagle-eyed fashion followers will know that we have, in fact, seen a brief glimpse Vacarello’s Saint Laurent boy at the designer’s debut for the house last season – namely the boys’ chest, in that single sheer-shirted men’s look. But last night we got to know him better, and this YSL man is a little different to the one we’ve known in previous incarnations of the house. For starters, everything was a bit more relaxed – gone are the days of crushing your family jewels to fit into those skinny skinny jeans (thank gawd). And he’s no longer a rock star, maybe more hottie lurking in the corner at a gallery opening? Because if Mr Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent is sexy, then the boys weren’t left out – there were blazers with nothing beneath, sequin underpants (boxers or briefs?!) as well as a more subdued sexy in the form of low slung trousers with fitted knitwear and a leather jacket. Phwoar.
