Ten Craves: Christopher John Rogers, Gucci Shades, A New Direction for Chloé and More!

Ten Craves is our online series that rounds up all the best product launches and must-know fashion happenings week in, week out.

Bennifer are back on, Naomi Campbell welcomed her baby daughter and Grace Jones and Cher both celebrated their birthdays – this week’s been a busy one! Here’s all that’s going down in the world of fashion.

It’s LA Baby!

After announcing that Gucci will show its next collection in Los Angeles, Alessandro Michele’s latest eyewear collection also has the city’s blinding lights in mind. The Hollywood Forever sunglasses line, first launched back in 2017, has been reinvigorated to “bring a touch of fabulous vintage glamour” to contemporary shades. Explore the collection here. Balenciaga goes shopping

We have just the item to make you the coolest chick in the supermarket. The latest addition to the Balenciaga Objects line, the Balenciaga Grocery Shopper, will have your fellow shoppers wishing they could put their fruit and veg in your bag. The handy bag collapses from a Mary Poppins bag to a wallet-sized pocket pleaser or even a nice keyring. Pretty neat, huh? Shop here. Brittany Newman

New Raf Simons for Fred Perry

“The energy and freedom of youth” is how Mr Raf Simons describes his latest Fred Perry collection. Re-interpreting key pieces from the British brand’s archive, classic Fred Perry shirts, trousers and louche tuxedos come decorated in images of London’s nightlife from the early 1980s, captured by seminal punk photographer Brian Flynn. The return of menswear

Menswear season is fast approaching, and boy aren’t you in for a treat! In London, a digital-led three days of shows, taking place June 12-14, will showcase new collections from the likes of Bethany Williams, Liam Hodges, Ahluwalia and Dilara Findikoglu. Over in Paris and Milan, a select number of physical shows are due to take place in both cities, with Giorgio Armani confirming it will show in front of a live audience. Yippee! PT

Matches Fashion gets artsy

Just in time for all the galleries being open again, Matches Fashion has launched Art Matches Fashion – a new programme bringing art and fashion closer than ever. The e-tailor will be hosting a podcast with fine-art photographer Catherine Opie, an exclusive exhibition at 5 Carlos Place, as well as a bunch of other artsy stories, partnerships and events in the near future. Plenty to sink your paint brush into. BN

A new arrival at Rive Droite

Here’s a pairing you may have not expected – Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello and Italian design and architecture group Memphis. As part of the Saint Laurent Rive Droite project, an exhibition will take place from May 19 to June 23 in both Paris and Los Angeles, showing off the hottest items part of Memphis’ success. Also available is an exclusive capsule collection, featuring multi-coloured checkerboard hoodies, dresses, a shirt and some new kicks. Don’t sleep on matching your outfit to your new ceramics. BN

Tom of Finland’s muses

This is our must-see – well, for anyone roaming the streets of New York City, that is. Taking place at the Fotografiska New York is Tom of Finland: The Darkroom, the exhibition celebrating the king of homoerotica ( and the perfect place to see an array of hunky men). As much as we love boys in their leather, Tom of Finland’s art was much more than that. He was the revolutionist of the portrayal of gay men forevermore. The exhibition brings together the photographic portraits the artist used as reference images, as well as celebrating his 101st birthday and book Tom of Finland: The Official Life and Work of Gay Hero. In the Big Apple right now? You should definitely go have a snoop. BN

Get the pints in!

Now, this is a super valid excuse to get downing them tinnies. The aim of the game is to find one of Carling’s special golden cans hidden in promotional multipacks, and when you do, you get to put your beer-soaked hands all over your new Umbro x Carling limited-edition football shirt. You best get drinking. BN

Cottweiler’s return

The Cottweiler boys have been busy quietly working on their latest Reebok collaboration, and it’s a stunna. Working with the Reebok model Zig 3D Storm Hydro model, the London-based duo have envisioned two new colourways for the chunky trainer, as well as a seersucker tracksuit, available to shop now. PT

Rag and Bone go Disney

Get in Emma Stone’s shoes with this one. Rag and Bone has collaborated with Disney in time for when the Cruella remake hits screens. We have a perfect idea: grab yourself a piece from the collection and make your way down to the cinema, it’s been a while since we’ve all been there, ay? BN

Star-studded Valentino kicks

Calling all sneakerheads, this one’s for you. The new Valentino Garavani One Stud sneakers, part of the brand’s pre-fall 21 collection, have finally hit the shelves. Featuring macro-versions of the classic Valentino studs, the napper leather quilting will make these some of the comfiest trainers you will have in your wardrobe, available to shop now. And that’s not the only Valentino news we have this week. The brand has teamed up with author Betony Vernon to envision a sexy narrative story around the provocative Rockstud Alcove Valentino Garavani. The book features a custom sleeve featuring the Rockstud Alcove logo and is full to the brim with saucy stories for you the indulge in. PT

Ahluwalia, Richard Malone and Nicholas Daley for Mulberry

Yep, you’ve got it. It’s another anniversary celebration but this time it’s Mulberry’s time to shine. Turning the big 50, the brand has snapped up three of the UK’s brightest young designers – Priya Ahluwalia, Richard Malone and Nicholas Daley – to each create a capsule collection as part of Mulberry Editions, coming later this year. BN

New Christopher John Rogers

Fresh from making it to the LVMH Prize finals, designing a sold-out collection for American super chain Target and dressing VP Kamala Harris at the Presidential Inauguration, Christopher John Rogers presents his latest collection. A strong 41-looks in total, the collection features pea-green opera coats, clown-collard shirts worn under seventies suiting and the designer’s signature strawberry-shaped gowns, now encased in hedonistic polka dots. C.P. Company teams up with Patta

Now, this is streetwear heaven. Patta and C.P Company have joined forces once again. Celebrating 50 years of all things C.P. Company, the collab combines the brand’s expertise on garment dyeing and technical fabrics with Patta’s exploration of culture and streetwear. We know you’ve been kicking yourself over not copping the 2019 collab, so you know what to do. BN

A fresh-faced vision for Chloé

Gabriela Hearst’s new chapter for Chloé is in full swing. After a critically acclaimed debut collection back in February, the designer has unveiled a visual narrative that marks a renewal of the Parisian house’s creative vision. Photographed by Zoë Ghertner, not a single piece of clothing is featured. Instead, a bare-faced Paloma Elsesser, honey-drenched hands and sprouting flower buds form the beginning of Hearst’s planet-friendly tenure at the brand. PT

Superstar DJ timepieces

The return to dance is fast approaching and Bvlgari has the perfect time-teller to brighten up the dancefloor. Pairing up with superstar DJ and producer Steve Aoki, a new, special edition watch with a 42-hour power reserve has been made for the clubbers who love to dance until the sunrise – or into the next day, for you hardcore ravers.
