Boss Resort 2015 Collection Hugo Boss Is Not
BOSS: RESORT 2015 COLLECTION
“HUGO BOSS is not French, nor Italian – it’s German, and the approach is very different,” says BOSS Artistic Director Jason Wu. “It’s reflected in the architecture, art and the way of working. It’s the pursuit of perfection.” We can see that German energy pulsing through Wu’s resort collection for BOSS. It’s the same energy that pulsed through the Bauhaus movement say, or Mies van der Rohe and his mantra “less is more”. As with van der Rohe’s architecture, you can see how less really is more in this collection. It’s simplicity over superfluity. The pristine pleats, the tailored trousers and jackets and the squeaky clean shoes – it’s all very, as Gavin and Stacey’s Nessa Jenkins would say in her thick Welsh accent, “tidy”. I feel that these clothes belong to the dystopian worlds of Gattaca and Equilibrium. As well as in the wardrobe of the contemporary woman of course.
