CONVERSE LAUNCHES A YEAR OF BRITISH MUSIC CELEBRATION.

Firstly, we’d just like to say thank you, thank you so so much to the ever fabulous Cheryl Calegari the lady we’d like to be when we finally grow up which we hope will happen some time soon) and all at Converse for throwing us the most amazing 10th birthday party complete with amazing dj’s, Alex Parry and Michael Hibbert from Chapel Club and Mez from The Neat who just happen to be ‘part of a 15 strong line-up of artists representing the creativity and diversity of the UK music scene brought together by Converse for a unique year long campaign. The Neat play wiry post-punk while Chapel Club make sleek, thoughtful pop songs with a hint of menace’. Which brings us to our next point, Converse’s desire to create a platform to celebrate the ‘unparalleled creative influence’ of British music, which they have by instigating two original musical collaborations. The first, to be launched, well now, features Bernard Sumner of New Order fame, Hot Chip and Hot City. The second, to be released in January, has Graham Coxton, Paloma Faith and Bill Rider Jones. What’s more, both songs are/will be available to download for free from the Converse website. As a platform of musical celebration, we don’t think they’ve done too badly.
