Courreges New Artistic Directors
Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant, founders of ready-to-wear brand Coperni (which epitome of Parisian minimalism) have been named artistic directors of futuristic French fashion label Courreges. “There is one fundamental in the work of André and Coqueline Courreges that touches us in particular: youth,” the dynamic design duo told WWD. “It gives us strength to believe that with Courreges, anything is possible, even the most ambitious dreams.“ Sounds like the lyrics to a song in a West End show. Meyer and Vaillant, who are 26 and 25 respectively would you believe, will take up the Courreges’ mantle with immediate effect, showcasing their first collection for the brand at the spring/summer 2016 shows in September. Apparently they are putting their own label on hold, even though it’s up for the LVMH Prize. Oh to be young and successful. Congratulations on your appointment, guys!
