Emporio Armani Join Forces With BFC For ‘New Bond’ Competition

Contrary to what the title may suggest, Emporio Armani are not joining forces with the British Fashion Council to find the next person to fill out Daniel Craig’s skimpy blue swimmers. If any house were to give finding the double-O a go, however, we would imagine Mr Armani would probably do a good job. He does a fine suit, and is James Bond not known for his sartorial prowess? Well, we don’t actually know. We don’t do action. But we’ve heard as much. ANYWAY, the actual ‘New Bond’ scheme is equally as thrilling, probably more so, as it involves fashion which is our chosen topic – and even more so for all you foetal kids who are at one of Britain’s leading design schools because Emporio Armani are selecting some TYTs (talented young things) from the British fashion scene to create a capsule collection to be launched for Spring/Summer 2018. Wowza. “Why?” You might ask. Well, apart from being an exceedingly benevolent supporter of young talent, it’s all part of a celebration of the first ever Emporio Armani runway show in London, as well as the unveiling of the new Emporio Armani store in Bond Street (that’s where the Bond bit comes in, see?). As far as the competition spec is concerned, applicants must bring the essence of British style to their interpretations of three iconic Emporio Armani signature models. Oh, and all the submissions will be evaluated by Mr. Armani himself, so no pressure. The lucky three designs will be hitting the shelves in London, Manchester and Glasgow, as well as being available on Armani website, with the winners also invited for three months of high-fashion education at Armani HQ in Milan. Sounds bloody good, no? Stay tuned for more information…
