Ermenegildo Zegna Appoints Alessandro Sartori

Congratulations to Mr Alessandro Sartori who just moments ago was announced as the brand new Artistic Director of Ermenegildo Zegna, returning to the brand after five years. In a kind of menswear-based version of wife swap/musical chairs, he’s moved over from LVMH-owned Berluti that he exited from earlier this week. Gildo Zegna (aka the big boss) said in a statement this morning, “I’ve known Alessandro and his style for many years and I am extremely excited to welcome him back to our group. His talent, creativity, passion and modernity make him the perfect fit to help us take Zegna to the next phase of its development”. Sartori will take over from Stefano Pilati who exited Zegna on Wednesday after whisperings for the last few months. Over to Alessandro – “I want to thank Gildo and the whole Zegna family for this fantastic opportunity. I grew up watching and admiring their creations and their authentic and deep values and I am extremely excited to write with the whole Zegna team the next chapter. I cannot wait to enter in their fabulous archives and to meet their artisans to start working on the new collections”. We can’t keep up.
