Frank Ocean Stars in the Prada Men’s SS20 Campaign

We’re seeing double Frank Ocean, and we’re not complaining. Everyone’s favourite musical heartthrob has been revealed as one of the new faces adorning the Prada SS20 menswear campaign. Captured by David Sims, Ocean appears in the campaign twice. In the first shot he’s clad in a pair of camel trousers worn with a terrific black coat and an untucked blue shirt, the latter adorned with a bolo tie stamped with the Prada triangular logo. In the second, the singer is shot up close and personal, a black-and-white portrait, sporting a nylon rollneck. The pairing between the brand and designer is a perfect fit after Ocean dazzled in a Prada anorak at last year’s MET Gala. Other campaign stars consist of Danish film director Nicolas Winding Refn and acting talent Austin Butler, who proved a standout role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Specifically for the campaign, Prada has adapted their logo into a series of acronyms – “a playful metaphor for a confident embracing of the indefinability of the idea of Prada itself,” said the brand in a statement. Along Ocean’s campaign runs “Programming Rhythms And Dancing Again,” whilst the other campaign stars talk of pursuing randomness and the need for artful discourse. Intellectual whilst a little left-field, would you expect anything less from a Prada campaign?
