Gucci Announce A New Exhibition at The Gucci Gardens in Florence
On the historic Piazza della Signoria in the centre of Florence, just a stone’s throw away from iconic sights of the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Vecchio lie the Gucci Gardens. Conceived by the House’s creative director Alessandro Michele last January and curated by Maria Luisa Frida, the museum is housed in the Palazzo della Mercanzian (the old headquarters of the Court of Merchandise founded in 1359). It’s basically three-stories devoted to all things Gucci. Sounds dreamy right? To coincide with the opening of Pitti Uomo in January 2019, the Period Rooms in the Gucci Garden will host a completely new exhibition. Things are still hush-hush, so we don’t know any more info just yet. The phrases of Coco Capitán and Jayde Fish’s creation story, which have covered walls of the transitional areas of the Garden, will be succeeded by a series of new works created by two artists (also yet to be announced). And for the first time, Gucci Garden boutique will also stock a selection of pieces featuring works of this top-secret artist. All the reasons to visit Florence in January.
The new exhibition at Gucci Gardens will be opened on January 8th 2019.
