Kim Jones Joins Fendi as Artistic Director for Womenswear

How do you like your eggs in the morning? We like our’s sunny side up and with a big dollop of breaking fashion news. Lucky us, then, as this morning it was announced the incomparable fashion force Kim Jones is joining Fendi

Alongside his current role as artistic director of Dior Men’s, Jones is now in charge of Fendi’s womenswear collections – including ready-to-wear and Couture. “My warmest welcome to Kim, to whom I am bound by deep respect and friendship,” wrote Silvia Venturini Fendi, who remains artistic director of the house’s menswear and accessories collections. “I’m looking forward to taking the Fendi universe to the next level with him.”

“Working across two such prestigious houses is a true honour,” penned Jones on Instagram. “To be able to join the house of Fendi as well as continuing my work at Dior Men’s is a huge privilege.”

The British design talent follows in the footsteps of the late great Karl Lagerfeld, who held the helm at Fendi until his death in February of last year.  Congratulations Kim! We couldn’t think of a more prolific and talented designer to follow in Lagerfeld’s footsteps.
