New year, new Louis Vuitton monogram. Well, not exactly. To mark the brand’s first major release of 2021, Louis Vuitton has tapped Urs Fischer to re-work its signature LV initials and Monogram’s flowers.
The Swiss visual artist – known for his innovative sculpture work and avant-garde installations – has hand-drawn the iconic patterns across a range of leather goods, as well as ready-to-wear pieces, trainers and accessories.
The team-up sees seven special-edition bags adorned in the newly decorated motif, available in both red and white colourways. The accessories are coated in a particularly eye-catching, velvet-like finish, which sees the monogram elevated using a textural tuffetage treatment (bit of a tongue twister, we must add). And expect to see a series of characters Fischer has imagined specifically for the collaboration, showcasing once more Louis Vuitton is swinging its doors open to artists from across the globe in 2021.
