Marni Milan Fashion Week S S14 There Was No

There was no lights and no music, thanks to a technical fault but Marni’s Consuelo Castiglioni didn’t panic. Instead she showed one of the strongest Marni collections for several seasons, moving the brand away from the oversize shapes and introducing a long, languid silhouette. The lean tops, wide trousers and gently fluted midi skirts recalled the 1930’s without looking retro thanks to sporty visors, flatform sandals and striped belts that cinched almost every look. There was plenty of femininity, many looks featured chiffon flounces and ruffled peplums. these were clothes with swish. The finale of lean tops and skirts encrusted with artisanal appliqué’s and crunchy 3D embroideries played to the Marni heartland. Lots to like and lots to wear.
