Oslo’s Uncontaminated Art And Fashion Festival 2016

What better way to spend the latter half of one’s week than, well, out of the office? Even better, out of the country completely? That’s what we are doing, unshackled from the confines of our Soho dungeon and travelling to Norway, land of fjords, sheep’s heads and fermented fish. Well, according to Google. Luckily, though, we are not there for culinary purposes, but fashion and art ones, attending the far more nourishing UNCONTAMINATED Art and Fashion Festival in Oslo. The festival, curated by Hilde Pettersen Reljin and Rita Mostrøm Larsen from NOIONE, in a collaboration with Riccardo Ruini, Creative Director and Partner of REM Ruini e Mariotti Agency (and Creative Director of our very own magazine), fuses together the worlds of fashion and art in three days of exhibitions, talks and pop-up events. As blurb says: “UNCONTAMINATED is all about being challenged, provoked and pleasantly surprised – this year’s participating artists range wide and perfectly represent UNCONTAMINATED’s vision of breaking rules, pushing boundaries and generously expanding people’s point of view.” Highlights, and there are many, include new exhibitions of work from Bjarne Melgaard and Bob Recine, Jenny Gage and Tom Betterton, Amanda Charchian, Arielle Chirara, Charlie Engman, Petra Collins (below), Lea Colombo (above) and many many more. Much excitement. And, we’ll also be taking part in a special talk this Friday at the festival, all about digital fashion and publishing, live streamed here on So, well, if you happen to be in Oslo. Say hi. Or, hallo. That’s hello in Norwegian.
